Malaizyo G Muzumala, a Master of Science in Computer Science student at the University of Zambia (UNZA), has been awarded an Honorable Mention for the Best Student Paper at the Third Workshop on Applications of Medical AI (AMAI) held in Marrakesh, Morocco. Malaizyo is a student in the Department of Computer Science and is also affiliated with the DataLab Research Group.
The award recognises Muzumala’s outstanding work on his Master’s thesis titled “Exploring Artificial Intelligence Based Interpretation of Medical Images in Radiological Workflows In Zambia.” This research aims to leverage AI to improve the accuracy and efficiency of medical image interpretation in Zambia.
